I know its an old thread but it worked for me. D2 with keys that suddenly wouldn't turn the ignition/move the tumblers. Called the RAC out but he was unable to help (actually useless all round) so...opened it up as per this thread & tapped the shear bolts loose, disconnected the wiring blocks &...

When I say needs a new clutch, I meant that on 128k miles they might as well while its stripped. Not sure if a new clutch HAS to be fitted when the spigot is replaced?

Those in the know will remove the g/box tomorrow but tell me it has all the signs of a worn spigot bush which means a new clutch. So long as thats all they find, I'm told it'll be around £600 in total. This (price) sound about right to you?

Ok, thanks for your thoughts chaps. Just done a 500 mile round trip during which it was mostly ok, maybe 6 out of 10 gear changes without difficulty but a couple of potentially dangerous moments at junctions/roundabouts. Its getting parked up now til the indie dealer can look at it on wed...

Hi all. As per title...2002 Disco td5 with 125k miles. Whether cold/hot and starting off/while travelling its getting increasingly hard to select any gears & feels like the clutch is dragging. Fluid is ok & its driveable (drove it from Kent to Cornwall yesterday) but needs nursing into every...

TD5, 2002, 120k miles. Couldn't see where else to post so...having read here that the MAF needs to be cleaned when left in situ, today I did so. It was already clean but I also had a look at the rubber pipe between the MAF/turbo. It was split by 2" around an upper union jub clip where a small...

No, clutch feels ok. Might take it for a few more miles & get it warm/loaded & see what happens as its no use being unable to rely on it. Having no proper facilities to do this I called a local independent who quoted £1000 for comp OE clutch/dmf replacement. (£680 for clutch inc labour/£300 for...

Thanks guys, I'm leaning towards the DMF. Bugger, was about to sell it too but looks like money needs spending first.

Hi all. A question for anyone in the know re our '02 manual Disco TD5 with 120,000 miles. Missus & son were out a few days ago & it lost speed with the engine over-revving like a clutch slip. Despite my best efforts to get it to repeat this, the clutch feels fine with no symptoms. Its got me...

I've no experience in body panel replacement on Landies so was wondering how hard it can be to remove the f/n/s wing of an '03 TD5 Disco. Is it just a matter of taking out all lights & unbolting? Any tips appreciated...(Son no 1 managed to tear a long jagged hole in it recently.):(

Bit boring compared to the rest of you...removed the completely rotten retractable rear step & knackered gas strut. Got another from fleabay which also has useless strut so may just replace with a suitable spring. Now to remove the rotten rear mudflap brackets now shiny galv ones arrived today.
