    Yes, I took the view that extending the warranty may offer protection in the event of a serious issue. But I've done it now. If anyone has had the service due notification fault, I'd be pleased to hear how it was resolved. Thanks.

    I'm due to have the car till November, doing maybe 1500 miles a month till then. I may just see what happens after I drive the 1800 miles till the false service due date.
