    Bike Carrier

I'll have a look at the local suppliers about the a bar and get back to you. Regarding the spare that is in the way . . . This is my solution on a 2 bike Holdfast carrier. Then if I use the Disco, I remove the adaptor and slide the same tow bar into the Disco I'll be buying a trailer in...

    Bike Carrier

Won't a 5 bike carrier be too much for the spare wheel bracket? If you have a tow bar fitted, why not go for this option? Thule may have what you're looking for

Oil in the Coolant Header Tank

+1. This happened on one of my previous vehicles and it took some time to get all the oil out of the cooling system. The oil will go to the expansion tank as this is the highest point for the system

What have you done to your Freelander today

Went through flood water and the car just went dead. HDC warning light and temp warning lights went on. Checked and temp was normal but car didn't start again =4km towed slowly home (20km/h) and passed 4 cars also stopped due to water flooding the road. Air filter got wet and removed all...

    Freelander 1 Cruise control

I had an Opel without that switch and the day I test drove it I was fiddling with everything and switched it on by mistake . . . The brakes was also tested that day :) That switch is actually important!

    Freelander 1 Cruise control

Thanks for confirming! What's the reasoning to have that button if you could just use the steering controls?

    Freelander 1 Cruise control

Hi On the td4 auto there's a button where you activate/de activate the cruise control. I'm doing a lot of mixed driving and sometimes (most of the times) forget de activate the cruise control button. Will it do any harm just to leave it on all the times and just operate on the steering...

    Can I drive it?

If you start it and all the doors are closed - does it go up again? Sometimes it also helps to press that button to take it to extended height to raise it from the bumps Usually it's just a small leak and you can drive it. Mine went down on the one side overnight and when I started it went...

    Freelander 1

I'm just glad it is the dealership that is paying for HIS mechanics fault and not me! At least I'm getting a fully refurbished box :)

    Freelander 1

I also suspect that he took out the wrong nut when draining the box - but he/the tool boy will never admit it. What really confuses me is why would the oil come out of the breather if no oil was added before to cause an over fill? (As I would have seen that it is leaking after a 100km drive.)...

    Freelander 1

Okey some more feedback. The dealer confirmed that some of the 'belts' inside the gearbox is burned and needs to be replaced - that is why the oil was coming out of the breather. Box is being redone and should be fixed by Monday

    Freelander 1

Okey. Some feedback . . . The CV's is in and should be fixed - I'm saying should be as the mech did 'something' and doesn't engage Reverse & the TC light comes on! He took the vehicle to a LR independent yesterday and they still couldn't fix it. Today the vehicle is going to a LR dealership...

    Freelander 1

I didn't notice any strange gear changes and only noticed the oil after a 650km trip. No leaks before . . .
