Diff arrived today. Now all I’ve got to do is clean it all out and fit it. Do I clean off the drive shafts and re grease them? I’m a bit worried about the clean out as this is new to me but I really want to do it myself.

Great thanks for the advice

Well I’m only going to be doing this at home so no air hose I’m afraid. Would the shrapnel have gotten into where the half shafts go? If so how do I clean through the axle??

Wow and this will fit straight in my 1980 88 inch Landy

I will get some pictures of the diff this weekend and then go from there.
Thanks.

The garage have said it is definitely the rear diff. They have removed it and it’s in the Landy now. I’ve looked and don’t really want to take things apart so does anyone know where I can get it refurbished???

L
I’m picking the Landy up today so will call previous to collecting. I’m sure they will know what’s wrong with the diff

L
Ok great. I will take a look.

I’m really not sure. I will ask tomorrow when I go to the garage. How many different parts are there ??

So the garage say it’s definitely the rear diff. Does anyone know where I can get hold of a new/refurbished or where I can get the one I’ve got refurbished???
-
L
I’d say yes I probably was but not sure how I change it ? I’m thinking it’s for something to do with the control down by the passenger footwell???
-
L
Well she’s in the garage so await their call. I drove the Landy down this morning and was really crawling in only front drive. Probably 20MPH in 4th gear. It there a reason for this or is it just because she was in 4WD??

L
I will let the garage know in the morning and hopefully get to the bottom of it.
-
L
Well it’s driving on the front diff and rear wheels are running free. Would this still be the case if the they had sieved or is this an intermittent thing ?
