No not driving with the diff lock on i can hear it disengage and engage so no issues there, and the clutch is a extreme outback heavy duty clutch about a year old including the release bearing
Are you driving with the 4WD LT230 diff lock on ?
The clutch release bearings are normally pretty reliable and only melt/screw up if you are driving around with your foot on the clutch all the time.
is the clutch an LOF by any chance ?
Yes mate, pretty much say its the bearing right enough. If you do get the box off replace your clutch at the same time, worth doing if you take the box off. If the flywheel looks a bit tired out then a re skim too while your there would be a good...
Can hold the clutch in for as long as I want if it's in neutral, or if I've come to a stop first then put the clutch in, also its a fairly load grinding noise that I can feel through the gearknob!
Hello mate, i'd put a good guess on it that it is your clutch release bearing getting worn and making the noise when pedal is depressed. Can be changed obviously but it is gearbox out for that one. Bit of a job but not the end of the world.
G'day gents, first time posting here, I have a very od grinding noise coming from the gear box/transfer case it's a 1995 300tdi 110 with a r380box and lt230 transfer box,
Car drives fine and shifts fine, if I'm at a stand still at the lights...
