LR020002 is what I think you are looking for but not cheap to buy new. Some pop up on eBay, just make sure you ask for the two attachment bolts if you go that route.

Yes, gasket failure is quite common, fairly simple to do, from memory you may need to remove the turbo oil in & out pipes to gain sufficient clearance to get the new gasket over the studs. Worth picking up the turbo oil seals at the same time as the gasket

Sounds like the temperature sender is either intermittently shorting out or more likely you have a chaffed wire to the sender. If it shorts to earth (or the engine block) the needle will go to full scale. Fan always runs as it is driven by the engine rather than being electrical. When its cold...

Yep, agree they are suppressor capacitors, shouldn't really need them these days I think they were more of a nessesity back in the day when people used AM radios

Did you resynchronise the fobs to the vehicle after changing the batteries (instructions are in user manual)?

I put Valeo in mine as the original listed 175k and 20 odd years (rivets failed rather than wearing out) so happy if this one will do the same.

Yes, mine does go to the chippy occasionally, was actually referring to the fact that the 'light protectors' in the picture are made from chip frying basket things (look carefully and you can see the handles):rolleyes::cool:

Good point, I'm talking about the metal bar type protectors, didn't realise there were clear plastic ones available.

I've got them fitted and can't say I notice any difference. You could always try holding them in front of the headlight (facing a wall and at night obviously) and see if you can notice anything
