    theyre based in the midlands not that that makes a difference lol im praying its the vcu now - gone are my hopes of the wheel bearing and 40 quid!! if i get the ar changed to 2 wheel drive after (if it is just vcu) vcu bits done would this decrease the risk of my ird failing dya think?

    ahh bless your heart :) thanks for that, gonna have a go with the wiggle test and then wheel off and see what we find.. i'm just praying its a wheel bearing, even if it means a new hub from damage still be cheaper than ird unit (whatever that is !!!!)

    yea, my hubbies got a car spares shop in chelmsford - not that he knows much about cars lol just sells the parts!! cars parked at his shop so im using his old defender - we'l have a go bit later- thought you might need special tools to get hub off?? what did it do on your disco?
