think you got the wrong end of the stick on this, when i bought my p38, 2 and a half years ago, number 4 injector sprung a big leak so i put in an ordinary injector after reading up a bit and the price of the injector with the sensor in it, and what i read said that the ecu would just default on...

ive been watching this post with great interest as i have more or less the same problem as you, except mine didn't just die there and then, i changed engines as i found an enormous crack in the head of my old engine which ran fine but overheated when it felt like it, bought a doner vehicle...

sorry just been looking at pics of solenoid and there does appear to be only one o ring fitted , not quite sure how that would work, but will find out tomorrow as ive got a pump lying on the floor in my workshop lol

no total unrelated, it doesnt work that way, and yes there are two orings one i can see the othere should be under the lower collar, thats the one that shut your fuel off when the plunger goes down

it does look like that, just slides up and down the inner tube, but there should be an o ring on the bottom of the collar, probably still inside the top of your pump, get something hooked and fish it out
