It's a typical love hate relationship with the freelander 2 when it works it works well but when stupid little problems crop up ,then you hate it ,I live in spain so the auto is great for the environment here a mix of road and tracks and the fuel economy is not that bad

Electrical problems, with the steering lock and body crash module stops it starting ,usual door lock trouble ,but other than Than that it's not a bad auto

It's the rear passenger dor unit not locking on central locking ,had similar issues on a freelander 1 seems like the lr2 carrys on the tradition

Are the rear door central locking units a shared part across other platforms along similar lines as with the freelander 1 shared with rovers

Anyone know where I can download a freelander 2 lr2 owners hand book I have one with the car but it's in spanish and my reading of spanish is terrible ,

I loved the days when you could fix your landy on the driveway ,this fault requires towing to a mechanic who has the diagnostic equipment, I'm dreading it happening again I live in the mountains in spain so getting stuck is a worry , I'm going to start looking for another defender or a Santana...

Had the same problem the ecu went in to crash mode ,so it had to go in to be re set ,its a nightmare fault as you cant fix it without the land rover software, give me a defender anyday

Sent mine off to the dealer because of a starting fault freelander 2 lr2 looks like key fob receiver and steering lock
