Just a smear or a decent bead? Thanks - wanted to double check before bodging it!

I replaced the rocker cover gasket a couple of days ago but have now noticed there is oil leaking along parts of its length... Could I run a bead of RTV or similar along it as a temporary fix/ seal? Am hoping I don't have a distorted cover. Was torqued up correctly though.... Any thoughts on...

Hi All Brand new to the forum and have a question straight away! I was replacing the braided fuel spill hoses on my engine earlier and as I replaced the third hose I noticed an unconnected "pipe". It's the one closest to the bulkhead. I took nothing from there - am I missing something...
