Thanks for all the advice, I'll try to investigate your suggestions.
Yesterday it started to make a whistling sound everytime I depressed or released the clutch pedal - could this help afirm the problem being the clutch operating arm or bias spring?
Thanks again,
Josie

Hi,
My defender has developed an intermitant fault whereby it sticks either in or out of gear, no matter how much you press the foot pedal. The problem seems to occur when slowing down or crawling in traffic.
The clutch fluid has been changed and system bled.
I'd be most grateful if...

Thanks for the advice!
Does anybody have any pictures that show the differences between the Freestyle and Firestyle alloys? They look very similar to a novice like me!
Thanks!

Hi,
Looking to buy new wheels for my defender 90, to go with tubeless bf goodrich all terrain tyres.
Have decided to go with alloys, and have been looking at the freestyle and the firestyle - they look pretty similar. Any advantages of one over another?
Thanks!

Hi,
My partner rang them and they were alot more accomodating (i.e didn't try and fob him off) to him than to me!! They said that the starter motor had a corroded relay and would clean it up, and said that the handbrake cable had seized and needed changing and would change this for us...

Hi,
Thank you for all the advice, it's been very useful.
I picked up the landrover from the garage today, with all problems rectified (starter motor and handbrake cable).
I'm hoping that the problem's solved now, and know to avoid that garage in future!
Thanks again,
Josie

Hello,
We had 4 BF Goodrich A/T tyres fitted in October (with inner tubes) to our defender 90 and the front passenger side tyre has gone flat 4 times since, with new inner tube fitted each time.
The garage advised that the internals of the tyre had become damaged which was causing the...

Thanks so much for all this help.
I have rung the trading standards as you suggested and they've advised me that it sounds like they've breached the term 'reasonable care and skill' section of the supply of goods and service act 1992, and that I can request they recitify issues without charge...

Hi,
Thanks for all the advice......
I guess I need to ring them and ask if they used the starter motor to get it up on the ramp. Then enquire about the earthing straps etc. Trouble is they have the car so I can't check these things - although I could go down and get them to check whilst...

I'm starting to think that! But the problem is they have my landrover, undriveable, and wont admit any responsibility.............

Thanks for the advice!
I was turning the vehicle round in a street (it is used if not daily, at least 3 times a week so doesnt stand around) and basically the clutch pedal suddenly wouldn't compress, it went solid....... the garage first thought it was the slave cylinder and replaced that...

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me with some advice.......
My 1993 Landrover Defender 90's clutch seized when I was driving it two weeks ago and a local garage replaced the clutch and clutch arm & rod. When I went to collect it it wouldn't start so they got it going by rolling it down the...
