Hi Helijohn, Your idea of using neodymium magnets would certainly be possible however the design of the plate if it is fitted correctly into the fixing position on the roof should be all that is needed. The added protection a couple of magnets placed above the plate near or next to the "dummy"...

Thanks Alibro, I'm not a mechanic but with help online, my Haynes manual along with a little patience it helped to get the job done.

Roof Rails Are On
Thanks for all the advice everyone.
I bought a small Endoscope from the net. I passed the camera section through the bolt hole on the outer roof and couldn't find the metal threaded plate in the roof void. After lots of thought I decided to pull part of the head lining away to...

Yes, I had thought about that and I've got my work cut out.

Hi Grumpy, Like you it feels as though there is another layer of metal above the roof lining. I'm going to have a poke around to see if I can find the plate. I'm not too hopeful and may well just give up on it. Thanks.

Thanks

Hi Nodge, It's got 71K on the clock and I thought the clutch might be giving up but was hoping someone would tell me different :(

The clutch on my 2006 Freelander Td4 is stiff to push down. I only need to...

Hello everyone, my first post.
2 months ago I bought the Freelander Adventurer, my first Land Rover. I got a new Labrador puppy and decided I needed something I could take her into the country with.
I soon found at about 70mph there was no way the Land Rover would go any faster no matter how...
