    Sorry I meant I had originally wondered if I had missed a bolt which would have made it a body mounting. I agree it isnt a mount and has no bolt! Can that part be bought to weld on?

    Great stuff donk56. Thats the one with the the rubber. I couldn't work out if I had miss a bolt in it. Are they avaliable to buy? Is it a case of loosening the rear body mounts jacking up the tub and moving the rubber bits so I can weld the replacement on? Thanks alot Jon

    Hello Are these body mount points? They are behind the rear wheel. Are they an MOT fail or not? They need doing but I need to get the disco mobile again and through the MOT. so if they can wait a couple of weeks that would be great. Thanks for any help Jonnym

    Its not been fully drilled out as far as I can see. If I had the time I could strip it down drill it out and retap it. For got to mention this is a late mark 1 1998 so has the tdi300 if it makes a difference. I've never used chemical metal, would it take the heat? Thanks again jonnym

    Thanks for the info. Just to be sure the place the part has sheared is into a raised knobble on the block. Also if it is for a bracket would it be leaking oil? I guess if some one drilled it out a little to exuberantly they could have drilled through the block.:eek: Is there a short term fix...

    I think I may have found the culprit to my epic oil leak. Somthing has sheared behind the injector pump (see the photos). Not having owned one of these before I have no idea what! I have put a small stick it to the hole and its around 3inches deep. So what was there and whats the best(or...

    Disco 1 rear shock replacement

    May be a stupid question bit do I need to jack up and remove the wheel before removing the shock? The main reason I ask is because my axle stands are about 100miles away at the moment :mad: Ive got the top bolt loosened with the wheels on. But do I need to raise the body to release the weight...

    I would need quite a lot of heat, the problem is it changes the strength of the alloy. It would probly be Ok though. How do you go about getting replacement keys, it's not somthing I've done before.
