    Diesel spill pipes

Yeah - that's what I'd call the rail type mine were just rubber hoses.

    Diesel spill pipes

Perished pipes allow air to seep into system overnight - making 1st start after a period of time has passed (in my case about 6 hours or so) very difficult. Hopefully new pipes will be airtight. I dont even think you would necessarily see fuel leaking out - more a case of air leaking in. Make...

    Diesel spill pipes

As I thought - not required - just wanted to be sure there wasn't something hidden away anywhere. Fingers crossed we'll have a first time start tomorrow! Thanks all

    4 X 4 virgin

From what I remember X trails have intercooler / turbo problems due to not letting turbo chill out after driving - I steered clear of them too! As for LPG - I never had any problems when I had Jeep Cherokees running on gas apart from being difficult to get cos I'm rural. If you live near or pass...

    Diesel spill pipes

Hopefully - pic shows what I'm talking about. This is the last injector connections - different from other 3 as LHS is not open. So - no blanking cap required? Just want to be doubly sure I'm not missing something obvious here.

    Diesel spill pipes

Dropped the wee end cap thingy but dunno if I need it or not - I dont know what purpose it would serves as there wasnt one there before? Unless I'm missing something.

    Diesel spill pipes

Just been out and changed over the 3 diesel spill pipes on 97 300tdi to see if it cures starting problem - difficult if left for more than 6 hours or so then starts 1st time every time - fingers crossed n all that! Question is regarding blanking cap / end stop whatever you wanna call it. There...

    Key troubles

Discool - you are a genius - pressed lock button 4 times and hey presto - everything locked and car is running again. So you reckon the recovery guy done what wrong? Leads off in wrong order? Many thanks to all who helped. PS As for keys not being for doors - a very good point - maybe as...

    Key troubles

Battery seems OK - but not too sure bout that. Even with battery pack from truck Green Flag guy had to use easy start to fire it up. Cant rule out bad battery but I really dunno. As for locks - I can get key in OK but wont turn any way at all. Passenger lock same. As I've only had car under 1...

    Key troubles

Green Flag jump started it today, let it run 5 mins while we blethered, turned it off while guy was still there and it started no problem. Then I went a run to charge the battery a bit. Came back and switched off, took key out (1st time since jump start)and came inside. Went back out a bit later...

    Key troubles

The problem I have now is (at the moment anyway) not the glow plugs. It is that the key needs recoded cos when I put it in ignition everything is normal except red key symbol is lit which I assume is decoded key and engine is immobilised.

    Key troubles

Had Green Flag out today - jump started my 97 disco 300tdi. He reckons glow plugs need replaced but I'm not sure - could be fuel pump etc because it starts perfect everytime except first thing in the morning. Anyhow went for a drive to charge battery a bit and came in to buy glow plugs online...
