    Vacuum Pump Normal Pressure

Hi guys, having a bit of a problem with my brakes and am struggling to find out what's wrong. I have no servo assistance at all and it's scary :( I have taken the vac line off and it is sucking but not very much eg if I sealed the end with my finger and left it it would fall off under its own...

    Washer Pump Advice

Got this sorted, went to swap the front and back connections and the live spade connector has broke off, held it against the pump and tried it and it worked so new pump to be ordered :)

    Washer Pump Advice

Not really checked much on it just now tbh was more looking for a place to start, I'll try swapping the wires over and see if that works and if not will crack out the multimeter and start fault finding. When I say revving hard I'm not talking really hard, it's probably at the point it hits...

    Washer Pump Advice

Rev the nuts off it basically, you've got to rev it harder than you would do on normal acceleration. So you reckon I could just renew the earth and earth it to the chassis or somewhere on the body?

    Washer Pump Advice

The thing with the switch though is that it turns the wipers on as it should regardless of the revs eg when I press the button on the stalk the wipers swipe a couple of times, unless there are two switches on that button or something else I'm not aware of.

    Washer Pump Advice

Thanks mate, I'm assuming the fuse is ok as there is power getting to the pump (When the revs are high) I'll check it tonight with a multimeter and see what results I get. Also to test the pump can I just connect wires from the battery straight to the pump and test it that way?

    Washer Pump Advice

One of the numerous electrical problems I'm now trying to eliminate on the landy is the washer pump. The pump is not working as it should, it doesn't work at idle or when driving normally but when you rev the engine higher on acceleration it magically starts working :-/ The wipers won't turn...

    Headlight Woes

Got this fixed guys, there was no voltage for the dipped beam so fed the relay from the other side (The previous owner has cable tied all the wiring on the passenger side into a ball and the wires were corroding internally so traced it back as far as I could and still nothing). Full beam...

    Headlight Woes

They were VERY dull when I fitted them, probably down to the original wiring starting to degrade so I thought the original wiring would be sufficient to run the relays ut obviously it has finally died :(

    Headlight Woes

Sidelights still work and the dash lights come on (Although they flash, not sure if thats the bulbs or yet more broken wires :-\) Basically everything works as it should when I turn the headlights on the dash lights (And headlight indicator on dash panel) come on as normal and when I turn full...

    Headlight Woes

All the fuses are ok, first thing I checked and it is fused from battery as well. I can only see so much of the loom as it disappears behind inner wings, my main question is would it be easier to just take a wire from the switch and reroute it for example through the bulkhead and down the...

    Headlight Woes

Having a problem with my headlights, I upgraded to halogen units and fitted relays as part of the circuit. I used the original wiring down the passenger side as the control wires from the relays, earthed the relays to the original headlight earth and then ran a live and earth from the battery to...

    200tdi Power Steering Pump (NTC8287)

Might be a bit of a gamble but does anyone have a working PAS pump from a 200tdi Defender. Part number is NTC 8287 and it's the one with the banjo bolt on the back. Mine is starting to go so best change it before it completely fails. I'm in the South West of Scotland btw.

    Loss of left hand lock

I'll try a shorter bolt tomorrow and failing that reposition the bush, what way do the flats go?

    Loss of left hand lock

I noticed one side was lower but didn't really take notice tbh. I'm just thinking, I ordered a new stub axle bolt and it looked about 10mm longer than the rest, could this affect it in any way?
