Thanks Shifty What's the easiest way to test this? Take off the prop shaft and see if there's any play in the flange and/or whether the nut is done up properly?

Hi there I have a strange noise coming from my rear diff. If I have been driving forwards and then stop to reverse, as I lift the clutch in reverse and apply torque in the opposite direction through the diff, it makes one loud knock. I can then reverse quite happily without anymore noises...

Ok, I will try that - thanks. I have only had the defender for a week so will work out how to get the cubby box off and access. Judging by everything else I've seen, I'm sure it's simple enough and well thought out!

Hello all, Does anyone know what colour the wire for the reverse light is, when under the driver's seat in a 2004 TD5 defender? Just halfway through installing reversing sensors and before I start snipping wires I thought here would be a good place to start! Thanks in advance
