thats whats worrying me, read somewhere something similar, perhaps she is just calling it a gold seal engine, perhaps someone just spayed it, thanks for reply jim

Am going to look at a disco with 220k on the clock apparently with a "gold seal" replacement engine (not sure when changed).Does any one know anything about these engines, someone said they are factory reconditioned units,and is there a way of checking via the engine number. many thanks jim

Gents, those in the know, I read a very interesting post a week or two ago but cant find it now about the earlier oil burners DI etc. Someone said they were from the ldv type van. Also that there were two versions, i wondered if anyone could elaborate and which one would be the better to go for...

Hi all, last landrover was a s2a 1963 swb sold a good few years ago looking for a 4x4 for the clan, fancy a disco but wondered is all the bad press about freelanders true, there are a hell of a lot about. jimbo
