    L322 4.4 TDV8 cam cover / intake removal

Yeah, the upper inlet was caked in muck - I guess plenty of diameter remains, just being a perfectionist. I'll take your advice and leave well alone :)

    L322 4.4 TDV8 cam cover / intake removal

I was thinking about trying to clean out the carbon/oil gunk that's in there since having cleaned the "donut" and looked in with a torch. My suggestion from a couple of youtube videos is that the engine needs to be raised to get the last injectors out... and in turn I assume the same for...

    L322 4.4 TDV8 cam cover / intake removal

Wondering how possible it is to get the valve covers off on this 4.4 TDV8. Is it as horrible as it looks? Does it require lifting the engine, or has anyone done it reaching in the bonnet?

L322 4.4 TDV8 lumpy start, blue smoke on effort, cleared up

Hoping for reassurance as my stomach did a flip this morning. On starting the car it was a very rough unbalanced idle, as if half the cylinders weren't joining in. I stopped it, gave it a minute and restarted. Sightly lumpy, but settled quickly. I then drive out of the local roads and onto a...

What exactly is the point of CVD?

With live data showing a full 1.5A to each corner on the flat, it's still harsh - sometimes even "crashy". Makes me think something is broken.

What exactly is the point of CVD?

Sadly it's the opposite... with no current to the damper is stiffens.

What exactly is the point of CVD?

Thanks for your feedback John. I checked with GAP and they said the adaptive damping calibration is only for pairing a new module to the car - it does nothing to damping settings, thus running it over different terrain has no effect other than placebo. I think my issue stems from the fact that...

What exactly is the point of CVD?

Slightly facetious question perhaps, but I'm trying to find justification for keeping CVD on my 2011 L322 vs deleting it. In my mind, I struggle to think of a scenario where I want the ride in my Fatty to be anything other than "as soft and comfortable as possible". I don't see turning a...

    L322 Accelerometer values

OK, non-zero... that points me away from this line of exploration and assures me that's within "normal" tolerance. Thank you sir!

    L322 2011 L322 Xenon headlights not moving

Now that *was* a good read, thank you! What document is that taken from? I'd like to read more :)

    L322 2011 L322 Xenon headlights not moving

OK, weirdly when driving toward a wall to park, I could see clearly that the beam moved left/right with my steering input (until I was quite slow)... so it appears she *does* have the adaptive headlamps. I checked the label and this confirms AFS: ... on which basis I'm confused as to why...

    L322 Accelerometer values

My point exactly... 0.4ms/s or 0.6ms/s could either be an incorrect reading which *might* be within threshold for the system to decide to firm up... or it could be "noise" and well outside of the threshold at which the dampers tighten.

    L322 Accelerometer values

Going over my new-to-me L322 and examining suspension readings because I have an intermittently harsh ride. I'm curious whether these values look typical? These are taken at standstill, engine off, so not sure why it's showing acceleration both sides. Presumably this is normal "zero-ish"...

    L322 2011 L322 Xenon headlights not moving

No movement at all, looks like no AFS for my car. That's probably good if it means less to go wrong! Does the standard Xenon make any vertical adjustment, or is it all catered for my the suspension level?
