Wired correct?, worth checking. There's 2 independant sides to the relay, 12v switched side is there you say, connect direct to cable to spots, do they light? Confirm with a meter the signal has 12 v when required and the relay is earthed.

If you connected to the rear window, you could power that circuit from another relay. That relay would only give power with the ignition off. The relay coil would energise when ignition on and break the power to the front windows.
