If it's been designated a Q plate, doesnt that mean the DVLA cant verify it's age? Dont think you can get a Q registration removed or alterered. That should affect it's value. - Maybe a good tool for knocking a few quid off.
Will it still be tax exempt??

Got a 109 on the drive with range rover axles on. will be takin em off to put on my 88. will be almost as wide as it is long!
I take it youve got disc brakes then??
I didnt convert the 109. Not sure how this was done. Will have a look and post some pictures.

That does seem a lot of money for a fixer upper.
Paid 750 for my series III '72 swb. Only need a bit of wiring on headlight to get thru test. excellent chassis. will need a bit doing on door pillars but apart from that it's a fine example.
Good uns are out there, you just have to keep em peeled.

it's real! look up 'HYDROGEN ENGINE' on YouTube for a series of 10 clips explaining the principles of running a hydrogen engine. Same applies for HHO gas. Also check out 'HYDROGeN TAP' for details of one of the best DIY HHO cell designs.

I'm planning to do the same. Got a '72 SIII SWB. Got a rear roll cage ready to go in and I'll attach proper seats belts to that. (Currently its got seats belts attached to the front corner of the rear tub- which is what you could do I suppose. Although it is low -it feels a bit weird coming up...

I've seen a gearbox going cheap.
Will it fit to get 5 speed, as opposed to sourcing an overdrive?
Would I need the relevant transfer box or would my old one mate up to it?
Any advice would be very welcome. :confused:

hey yall. 1st posting. have got a 1972 swb petrol. will the tdi engine and running gear fit from a discovery? would then get more modern performance and braking power.
does anyone know what would be involved or have any better ideas? :confused:
