Only one fuse for all indicator lamps each side I'm afraid.
Should be quite easy to access by removing the headlamp cowl, otherwise the loom runs inside the wing and you have to remove the trim inside the wheel arch to get to it.
I've got some...
15/40 is the kiddy, lots of land rover owners like to UPGRADE the parts they use incl oil and the engine simply wasnt designed for thin oil.
Diff and tfer box whatever takes your fancy 80/90, 85/90 its all good enough, again cheap and cheerful...
Definitely not Optimil hinges, i got some a couple of years ago and don’t recommend, the rubber bits that go between the doors and the hinges are awful after two years and the anodised is crap. I am the only one who thinks this?
Also they do...
Good try though 😁
I think I have managed to knock the pins out of an old set before. But the pin would need to be drilled through and it’s diameter is too small for that I think.
I had a go using a pushpin adapter for my drillpress but the amount of force necessary to dislodge the pin was above the level I was comfortable making using my antique equipment that I use to make things out of precious metals. I abandoned that...
I read this and thought that’s a good idea. But how ? The grease needs to go to the centre part of the hinge as that’s where it rotates on the pin and I’m not seeing an easy way to do that in a DIY way !!
hi all no more posts from me my 110 hard top letty has gone to the big garage in the sky after two cars racing hit an other car into my landy the insurance then said no more cannot mend her so im back to looking for now
Parts list in case you'd like to add up how much it cost me (does not include the many sections of pipe and hoses that I didn't use!!!!).
Other sellers exist I'm sure this is purely for reference so you can get the right size parts if you want...
Result:
Had a bit of trouble fitting the snorkel top as it was a bit big but padding it out with an end off one of the many spare hoses I've got it's now solid.
Should also say that she seems to breath a lot easier now and the turbo...
So what I ended up with:
oil catcher pipe extended:
(It got shorted when in place to line up with the T)
Turbo pipe first section:
Air filter section made up (even though had to remove input hose again as not enough room to get the corrugated...
oh yeah, I also worked out eventually that I can't just get rid of the oil catch pipe, well not without even more bits to try and fit, so that resulted in another rethink.....
I started buying all the pipework to connect the snorkel but have had it in my mind for a while now to get rid of the standard air filter; thus the project expanded a little to get a full set of new pipes between turbo and snorkel.
Matching the...
So the Nakatanenga snorkel came from 4x4overlander pretty damn quick. Nicely packaged.
The only think I didn't like is that the welding wasn't complete all the way round the wing-top plate:
A few posts to follow with how over the last couple of weeks I've spent all the fuel money I've not used on too many wrong sized bits of kit and how I eventually got everything connected.
So now : I'm going to fit 30mm spacers to the boosts 😂 Can't find tyres I like enough to justify swapping out the Insa Turbos (Michelin Crossclimate variants doesn't come in an 85 sidewall) just yet so I'll just go with the spacers. 🤷♀️
Spacers really are not an issue, the hub and tyre have no clue if you have spacers or different offset rims, the effect is the same.
Stock wheels will rub unless you wind the steering stops to reduce lock, hence why all stock Defenders have...
Need to button my seats an that means taking them out
Need to put three piano hinges in bonnet, finish retrimming landy seats now the frames are painted
Got to renew all the engine rubber hoses (Two) and do an engine and auto box service
Engine...
Never worry about tyres in the forestry industry. Some logger will always pull you out.(oh they were pulling you into the woods that day, loading you & dragging you back)
I dont think you will find Land Rover made wheels to fit what you are looking for. The steel options were either the standard or Hd version. And the alloys were not for “commercial” use. Special vehicles used modular wheels for the power company...
I am basically "meticulously researching the offset of each different kind of wheel" at this point! I'm running into a lot of conflicting anecdotal evidence. Questions of taste and decency are almost going out the window. The lugs on the Insa's...
Unfortunately without sitting and meticulously researching the offset of each different style of wheel i don’t think there is any other way of doing it. I run 8” width modular steels on my 110 that with a quick google look to have an offset of...
I'm definitely in the left hand side of the camp, but I'm really trying to troubleshoot the problem and am not getting a lot of helpful feedback. Boosts seem to have much less offset, so even fitting a lower profile tyre on a 1995 300tdi with...
Fitting 18" wheels fall into this category, just poor taste and judgement being displayed to even consider such a choice! On a more serious and practical note it also means that you will either get a larger diameter wheel tyre combo overall...
OKAY well I am, after much deliberation, I think going to go down the route of fitting 5x165 to 5x120 adapters (56mm offset increase) with some of the New Defender (L663) steelies, which are 18".
Having read about the Boost Alloys it seems like...
