    Freelander 1 seized injector

Hi Nodge, Thanks for the reply. I thought as much. Fortunately, injectors aren’t that dear to replace if I end up wrecking it during removal. I’ll buy a slide hammer and have a go when it turns up.

    Freelander 1 seized injector

Good evening all, I’ve been working through a few faults and issues with my L series freelander and finally made it to the injectors. I managed to remove, clean, check and refit numbers 2, 3 and 4 injectors with zero issues. Number 1 though has been a complete pain in the arse. I managed to get...

    Brake Caliper conundrum

Well that logic follows every other thing I’ve had to do to it in the last two years!

    Brake Caliper conundrum

I’m going to have a play with the drums and shoes and go from there. Failing that.... bonfire!!

    Brake Caliper conundrum

I’ll have a look and see if there’s anywhere else to bleed it but I can see anywhere. It had new slides and pads 6k miles ago. And I’ve fitted new discs too. This car is like triggers broom!!! I’m going to strip and rebuild the drums and whatnot over the next few days so will see what that...

    Brake Caliper conundrum

Mine doesn’t have abs so it’s not that. As for bleeding methods. I’ve used gunson eziebleed, a vacuum bleeder and the two man method. I’m 100% confidet that there’s no air in the system as when the front flexihose is clamped, a rock solid (as in jumping on the floor solid!!) pedal is achieved...

    Brake Caliper conundrum

Hi all, Apologies for the delay... I’ve been out of the country with work for a couple of weeks. Quick update..... I tried a replacement caliper which had no effect. So still had a soft pedal. I’m now totally and utterly flummoxed. The only next step I can think of is to check the nearside...

    Brake Caliper conundrum

Soft. As soon as you allow pressure into the Caliper, the pedal goes soft.

    Brake Caliper conundrum

Also tried that. There were two of us last night. The hose isn’t moving at all. When we clamped the hose, we clamped it as near to the Caliper end as possible

Done that.... still the same. This has me flummoxed

    Brake Caliper conundrum

hi all, I’ve had an issue with the brakes on my FL-1 L series for some time now. The brakes are functional but not great. I’ve bled, re-bled and re-re-bled the system on numerous occasions to no avail. I am more than 100% confident there is no air in the system. The master cylinder has been...

Freelander 1 Brake master cylinder.... I think

We've have it all to bits again, re-filled and re-bled and it's still the same. I'm as sure as I can possibly be that there's no air in there as we've pushed a good amount of fluid through the system. Everything I read points to the master cylinder being duff so I picked one up earlier, will...

Freelander 1 Brake master cylinder.... I think

Morning chaps, I've been scratching my head about this all last night and this morning and I think I've described the problem incorrectly.... the brake pedal actually hits the floor when the engine is on. We've checked the master cylinder by blocking off the outlets and the pedal holds up firm...

Freelander 1 Brake master cylinder.... I think

Well... everyday's a school day! Even better if it means I won't have to shell out again on the green machine! Thanks guys, I'll see how it goes over the next few days and report back. Danke! Ian.
