    Hi. Most of my electrical problems came from the ECU, a small card behind the glove box. Its about the size a a cigarette packet. I had to secure mine as I thought it was shorting on the brackets, now no problems. Not an electrical expert. Ian

    The top of the nut is 8mm down. There is only room for a socket, a ring spanner wont work.

    I tried the last suggestion, the nut is deep inside, no room for a spanner and if I use a socket how can I stop the rotation. Would a vice damage the pulley?

    Dashboard peel

    Hoe gaan dit I have a 96 TDI with a peeling dash. I lifted dash from window edge, removed the foam with had stiffened and could not be re-shaped. I replaced the foam with a 10mm HD soft foam ,using contact adhesive restuck the dash. A bit tricky but it worked. Regards Ian
