Hello, i'm considering fitting a new propshaft to my 2004 fl1 with 5doors. I found one (used) complete propshaft with vcu and bearings, but it is advertised as one coming from a soft-top fl1. In the pictures it looks similar to mine. Are there different propshafts used in different models? Thanks

Is there a way to activate the glow plugs also at warmer weather? I noticed that in winter, the glow plug lamp on the dashboard turns on, i wait until its off and my td4 starts easily. However in warmer seasons the glow. Plug lamp doesnt turn on and its more difficult to start the engine. What...

... ten years later on this post noticed I have a similar number of 2004 TD4: GKN V 405520 03 754. Freelander still strong, but looking for a new VCU.

Can you lower them by the buttons near the handbrake? If yes, the mechanism works you might need to 'reset' by a long press. Otherwise the mechanism is damaged - a common fault to fl1 - repair kits are available.

Is there a way to forcibly activate the glow plugs when starting? When its warm the ECU doesn't activate them and my FL1 doesn't start easily.

Hello, I just had the same surprise on TD4 - I removed the breather casing and it was empty - no filter inside. It was also relatively clean - just a little oily. I started the engine with the breather removed just to see if there is any spillage but there was none. Is it possible that the vents...

Same issue in 2022. Installed new pump, much noisier than the previous. Also takes more tries to start the car
