Hey Cooperkerr i was reading your forum post about your throttle potentiometer problem i have the same... its a 1998 freelander i was wondering where you managed to get such a CHEAP! one from ive looked and the price for a new one is 350 pounds :( Any help would be great thanks!!

I have the very first model of freelander and they do definatly have an engine management light on the dash

i get my abs light stick on sometimes all i do is just turn the engine off and turn the ignition on leave it untill all lights fade and seems to fix it.

Do you know anywhere i can get a cheap one from i dont want to spend 320 quid for a new one

It dont seem to do it when the engine is cold... but ive just been out and the engine is still warm i tried the throttle pump you just suggested and it seems to have done the trick will report back tmoz after a full days driving :)

thanks for the reply mate!!! Well i got it on a diag machine and it said it was faulty but ive heard it could be faulty wires or something... I tried the ignition and throttle pump but it did not work :( I saw in a previous thread someone said turn ignition on until lights show then pump...

i doubt it would be the intercooler piping if it was the engine management light would be on constantly my friend had that on his freelander, But if you want to be sure then check.

Hello i have a problem with my Throttle potentiometer loss of power engine management light etc etc... The car is a Freelander and its the 1998 model in diesel, Its coming to the end of its life not had much go wrong with it apart from the rear diff. Im hoping you guys can help me with either...
