A sad week of finding more and more wrong with my old trust Battered d1 it's with a heavy heart I've decided it's time to get rid. Happier news is I'm replacing it with a much better condition d1. Looking forward to picking it up in a weeks time.

Getting the hub off doesn't take long at all. Wheel off, end cap off, circlip and shims off. Drive flange off, Caliper off( I normally hang it off the spring so it's out of the way) then hub lock nut off and lock tab washer followed by the last hub nut. After that it all slides off. Don't loose...

Went to replace my leak off pipes today and discovered 1 of the nipples the pipes push onto had snapped off in the past leaving about 5 mm of metal to hold the pipe on. **** sake! New gubbins ordered and fitted today in between the down pours. I think that's all the hoses for the fuel system...

I replace the fuel pipe from lift pump to filter as it had rubbed against a wire and pin holed itself. The smell of diesel after a spot of duel carriageway driving alerted me to it and following the trickle diesel pin pointed the problem. Gotta love it when it's an easy fix.

I have had an all to similar experience with the very same brand. I'll put adding some more thread lock and see how it goes to my list of jobs.
