What’s the best way to test that the motor is all ok? If it’s fine I’ll order up a new regulator. If not... I can get a genuine, second hand regulator and motor for £31 Worth looking at second hand or best to stick to new aftermarket parts? Thanks folks.

Evening folks.... Issue with the electric window on drivers side of a Freelander 1 (3dr). It’s stuck down and won’t go up. I have taken the door card off to reveal a broken cable. Image attached, maybe it’s something different. Is there an easy fix? Cheers!

Door now off, thank goodness..! Feed all the wiring back out the door, then whipped the door off. By christ it’s a heavy brute - wow’zers. Hopefully fitting the replacement will go to plan, fingers crossed.. Thanks to all for help and advice, much appreciated. Cheers!

Hi Nodge68: I have found the hinge bolts ok. It’s the tailgate wiring loom that I’m not sure what to do with. Guess i have to try and feed it back and out through? Thanks.

The door has had impact by a reversing tractor. Door is twisted and doesn’t seal anywhere.

Now I have it open, it’s time to remove the complete door. I’ve had a search online for any guidance on tailgate removal, not coming up with much. The only thing really that I’m not sure about is how to get the wiring out? I was expecting a multi plug type thing. Confused.com :-/

Alibro: Getting into the solenoid was the only way to get this tailgate open. Thank goodness it’s now open. I had thoughts of the grinder coming into action. Phew!

Just done this.......fingers, toes and everything else was crossed even the red/orange-black wires.......and yeh, the door lock didn’t release, but the window went down the full way... Hmmm! Done something, just not what I was excepting. :-|

I’ve just unwrapped the black insulting tape, that was wrapped around the cables at the handle side, as it looks like someone has butchered them. (Photo attached) Far right cable looks organge/Brown....I hope!

Just having a wee look at this now. I’m seeing one black/orange cable going into a plug type thing. I’ve attached a photo, is this the correct one Nodge68?

Pass, purchased like this. There’s no door handle and have tried pressing the fob near tailgate. No sounds/noises. Tried disconnecting battery for days on end, but to no avail. All fuses look fine. Window is already down. Nightmare!

I have been through them all. Nothing shows up with the same issue I have. :-[
