I'm going to revive this post because I'm considering the same conversion. Looking at the age of the posts I'd like to know if anyone has attempted/achieved this in recent times?
Does anyone know what would currently fit? ie Freelander 2 early ?

While running the DTCs and exploring other modes available on my 2006 L314 Td4 I've switched the Cruise Control light on, could this imply the ECU may be capable of having Cruise fitted ?
It's strange how they're still using rubbish cranks in the new Discovery Sports :( I was in hte market for a new one until I found they come with the ingenium engine that's rubbish. Going down the MB GLS route now
I've replaced both the Crankcase breather with the BMW upgrade and a Performance filter (Not K&N) and find the car runs smoother and smokes less.

I appreciate that landrover spent a lot on this stock intercooler.
The one on my car...
We used petrol on a TD4 cooler with no problems. A thick rubber glove on each end after putting in about a pint of petrol, and lots of shaking it around. Then drained it & did it again. Finally left it upright in the sunshine to dry out...
What a faff getting the bumper off! Typical being an end of line car I found more bolts than either the Green, Blue Haynes or the LR workshop manual suggested.
Tomorrow I will be removing the intercooler (Got side tracked by a leaking caliper...
I'm planning on cleaning out the intercooler on my 06 Freelander 1 Td4. Quite a large amount of goop inside. I've read all kinds of horrors on Facebook about putting petrol through, is there a touch safer way of doing it ? I'm thinking after how...
