The vehicle I have is shortened rangerover chassis with range rover axles ,and was running a v8 3.5 Sdi with shortened props,the box transfer box etc as shown ,only the engine is missing ,I was hoping to just swap in a new engine ,a 300 tdi would be magic and r380 box

This is my dilemma ,I think this may be a lt95 box ,or so I've been told ,a local 4x4 guy reckons it's an early range rover box and is manual 4 speed . I don't wish to fit a v8 into the chassis and would like something reliable and not thirsty ,what are my options ? Couple of pics of box
