I tried it in neutral today and there is no judder at around that speed even when I tried to match the revs.
So the judder is only present when in gear (D).
Would this narrow down the remote diagnosis?

I've recently bought a Freelander 2001 TD4 5 door.
I can't fault it except for a judder / kangarooing at about 30mph (give or take 10mph). The vehicle accelerates and brakes well.
This kangarooing is subtle - it's not a bucking bronco or anything.
I tend to notice it more on deceleration...
