The High pressure Fuel pump has three small metal (I’m not sure what to call them ) seal carriers between the cylinder--heads and main bodies.
There are two hard white plastic seals, and two rubber, one of each.
I have learned to place the seals onto the metal intrusions first, and not into...

Oh, I'm not going to be in touch again, for a long time. Thanks to all. Chin-chin.

Thanks, Grumpy, and to the other likes. You're well ahead of the pack.
I'm now on alert for snakes. Goats we can manage. Lol

I'm now inAfrica, heading for a country where French vehicles are dominant! Not Freelanders. So spares are few and impossible to get.
My repair was excellent and all is well.
I'm intrigued by the answers from some, though.
I've been in the Sahara before and know its limitations. So, please...

Here’s a good one to chew the cud on. And it may be of interest to others.
Having just driven from the UK, I’m in another country. And just as the day’s journey was almost complete I discovered our fuel-pump was leaking.
I carry an assortment of tools and spares, which included a pump -...

I've just done a leakback test on my Td4, and got 35ml on all 4 new injectors after running the engine on tickover for 5 minutes.
My previous tests had 65ml after 5 minutes, on my old injectors.
Thats quite a difference.

Hi Alibro, and sorry for not replying sooner.
Yes, that wine offering neighbour is really nice. I did enjoy it.
As for an MOT? I was advised the diesel is not tested for CAT efficiency.
And even if it did fail, I would buy a replacement and refit the original empty can instead afterwards.

Hi guys. I previously wrote about clearing a hole through my Catalytic Converter, and the difference it made.
Hmm, so here's the update. And it is very interesting!
My car was going really well. New Injectors. Cleaned Turbo - with Mr Muscle.
New this and that. My car was going just as I...
