I heard a little bit of the pinking noise today again and I am wondering if anyone has heard of either the auto adjuster or idler pulleys for the drive belt would make a noise like this.

Yes I agree. I am going to run it for a few days and give it an oil and filter change also.

Put in Wynns hydraulic lifter cleaner this morning and has worked a treat. All quiet! Cheers guys

Hi all! I have recently bought an 08 Freelander 2 HST. When pulling away even when warm there is a slight rattling tappet noise until up to speed. It is worse listening from the out side. Is this normal or is there wear starting. Oh 49,000 miles. Cheers!
