got a 02 freelander td4 and it has started throwing out a load of black smoke when accelerating. there are no warning lights and i have just replaced the crank case breather filter because there was oil coming up the dip stick anyone got any ideas? gwyn

some people are idiots, got a reply from landrover and they have diagnosed the problem to be the high pressure diesel pump! they are fitting one in the morning so we will see!!!!!!!

will speak to them in the morning and let you know how i get on

they say that they deal in landrover and got lr certificates but they have to email lr with a problem and wait 24hrs for a reply! not very specialist if you ask me!!!!!!

hi. got a freelander td4 just fitted a new fuel pump and filter (under wheelarch) now she wont start, cant tow start her because she is an autobox. any suggestins?? gwyn

hi, just had a new fuel pump and filter fitted now i cant get it started. its at a land rover main dealer and the cant get it started. the fuel pressure is ok but she wont fire! she is just turning over. any suggestions?? Gwyn

thanks for the info, my mechanic said that my turbo was not a variable vain one? will look for the fuel filter this morning. anyone recommend a good mechanic in Lampeter area?

thanks mate, its just been serviced and the mechanic said the only fuel filter was in the fuel tank is this true? every car i have owned had a fuel filter under the bonnet! he connected it to his computer and it wasn't showing any faults.
