That's a gem of a Freelander you've bought there, looks great. The number plate is interesting. It's obviously a Swedish plate, but I'm sure the LR owned cars, eg promotion vehicles etc, are regos '?AC' and I'm sure the very first batch of...

Hello everyone! Finally I have good news: My Freelander is back on the road! The only problem was actually the large fuse 120A from the alternator. Nothing else broke. I had no chance to get the fuse here. That's why I had to order it. When you...

I couldn't entertain a German powered donor. I have to maintain some ethics. Maybe if I find a K, or more likely a KV6, being broken, I might consider it ;)

Swapping to a facelift scuttle solves the old broken rubber problem. The later ones have hard plastic right up to the ends.

I can't really tell from the pic where that it, I've never had to investigate the cable, but behind it looks to be the oil cooler pipes? These are prone to leaking and often replaced. I need to replace them on mine. If they are AC or something...

If its like my L series, everything is covered in oil. I sometimes think there's more oil on the outside of the engine than in it. But it never breaks... it just carries on.

If your diagnostics tool has the options, point it to Wabco ABS. It will then talk to the ABS ECU and will get the error codes. If it doesn't support Wabco, then you won't be able to get them. I have plugged a 'generic' type reader into mine...

GrumpyGel replied to the thread 3 Amigo without codes.
You'll need a F1 specific code reader for it to connect to the ABS. You may find a generic tool that will talk tot he ABS - but that's hit or miss. If the reader is just talking to the main engine ECU it won't find the codes. In fact, it's...

Hello ...just joined this site ! I have owned a Bmw x5 e70 40d 2010 for 5 years now and just about to add a fl2 to the fleet. The x5 is really a big road suv. The suspension is too stiff for anything more than a gravel track especially with 20"...

I suppose if the engine is cold, its had longer to let more drips in. Don't know if much pressure stays in the rail once the engine is cut. Also don't know much about what goes on inside the cylinders, but the injectors fire fuel in a very fine...

Those cover pieces for the bonnet hinges would be good.

I'd get yourself a ODBII code scanner and read the codes. It'll tell you why it went into reduced power mode.

Finally got around to fitting the towbar. I used M12 oversized washers, OD 40mm and 2,25mm thick. They slid into the space perfectly. As a point of reference for anyone else, Fiat Ducato (since 2006) engine mount bolts are M12x1.25x75 (Mopar...

I can't see it being a relay issue, I'm sure its a sensor thing. On light drizzle it will occasionally do a flick, but basically always I have to take it out of auto and turn them on for 1 wipe if I need the screen cleared. A couple of times it...

Thanks for tagging me, I might find out why my automatic wipers don't work. What I'd like to know is, can they be configured by diagnostics to operate as good old intermitted rather than automatic - cos automatic is pants.

If there's coolant in multiple bores, that would be a bit strange for HGF or something like that. I wonder if the head has been off and coolant spilled into the bores. Having said that, if its damaged them or the pistons, then it don't matter...

Had to call the police today to stop 1 of our campers/customers. We've had a customer complaining the brakes on the camper he's rented are really bad. So we tries to book him in to a garage to get them looked at. We managed to get him in to 1...
