I think only the V6 was sold in the US and they were only automatic. As you say clutch, that means its not a V6 so was never sold in USA. The V6 diff will be identical, and the V6 IRD can likely be used, although they were different part...

There are lots of "2002" L Series F1's over here, and K Series of the same model year. Don't think I've ever seen a 2001, so they were obviously a batch sitting "somewhere" on the planet and ended up being sold for the first time here in 2002.

Bit like the headlamps at work. If the dipped or main beam goes, you just replace the bulb. but if the side light goes, they are LED built into the lamp and you have to replace the whole unit. Stoopid.

I know you say the drop links are OK. But double check they are. When the drop links went on mine, they were knocking going over speed bumps at an angle a lot more than flat on (I presume cos flat on, both wheels go up together so less stress...

Had to remove 4 x glowplugs from my TD4 2005 recently. None moved and I know, from a bench test of a broken one, that they snap at 30 ftlb. I didn't want to break them so trawled for techniques that might work. This one looked reasonable and it...

I tested charging at four more locations today and it worked perfectly so I'm now reasonably confident that If I drive to Dublin in August (100 miles) I'll be able to make it home. The Dublin trip is for a meet up with other EV conversion...

I really don't have a clue, but that those shafts have CV joints at either end that do allow movement. So I wouldn't be surprised if that is not an issue.

Thanks for your reply. I've now sourced a left/passenger side mirror that exactly matches mine so I'll play safe and order that. The driver's side isn't so bad but I'll play the long game and wait for another correct one to become available...

That is how I rebuilt my IRD. I wasn't even keen to actually remove it, but I have an inspection pit in my garage which made the job so much easier. Having done it and put it back together again, I'm much more confident to take on other jobs...

Think I'd rather rebuild an IRD than a VCU. You know where you are with gears and bearings. I'd get a rebuild (bearing) kit, remove it, give 'em to a shop to pull and push the bearings then refit it. As for rebuilding a VCU, cutting it open...

I have the later version running on my '99 (ribbed miror) car. It came off my 2001 parts car. I did it a while ago so can't remember precisely. They do fit and work, but the mounting is different. I believe the 2 rear screws are the same, so...
