    Sorry, new to posting items. I bought a new solenoid from the local dealer (Guy Salmon), located as photo and fitted in 15 - 20 minutes and the problem was solved. Well done in giving details.

    just got to say many thanks for this thread. i developed the exact symptoms stated and after a visit to the local dealer (Guy Salmon) everything has now been resolved. again many thanks.:)
