So, time for quick summary:
Harness installed, everything working except wiper / washer, horn and ignition. Reason, most likely, a mixed up wire at the starter motor, and now a broken contact at the starter. New starter should be here end of...
A long time ago, I had a test drive in a brand new Classic when I was looking for a replacement vehicle. Unfortunately, the gear lever came out in my hand so the journey back the the dealers was in second gear! I purchased an XJS instead.
I did try switching the AC off but it didn't do it. Of course, that might mean something but given it is intermittent it is rather hard to say for sure.
Been busy all weekend and got stuff to do today as well so it will have to wait another week.
when you first start up the slack is taken up and a noise is heard and then it settles down till either the engine is stopped and moves the damper the other way and will maybee make noise again on staetup. try turning the fan one way or the...

Driving yesterday and set off and suddenly there was an almighty racket. I thought the gearbox input shaft bearing was toast. Dumped the clutch and then tried to pull away again and it was fine. Did this a few more...
Just be aware that, unfortunately, that may not hold true. Different makes may have different baseline resistance on the wire with the electronics sorting out the correct signal. I am only guessing. I would want to build a test rig.
talking about injections i am just going to get a rabies inoculation becaue im going back to Australia via Ethiopia, Madagaska Reunion Dubia and Singapore. Ethiopia is one where rabies is high risk. i booked in for a consultation and got a phone...
Wrapping beyond the engine compartment serves no useful function, and if it is wrapped like that the tail pipe will get hotter, hence the problem.
