Chain stretch tends to affect hot starting rather than cold. Moving the FIP top is really last ditch stuff. Idle should be 750 rpm. If no-one has touched the FIP in the past then it is probably due a refurb.

The l322 is a dangerous tow car! I mean.. took the caravan out for the weekend.. it's too easy to forget it's even there.. apart from the 20mpg avg I would like to note that it's a proper caravan with the pointy end at the front🤭

Hmmm. Modulation is a tad high but I would expect problems starting hot rather than cold. Problems starting cold sounds more like glow-plugs or in-tank pump. I posted up a spreadsheet with a trace from mine somewhere. Or PM me your email address...

The n57 has plastic timing chain tensioners annd are not as good. Without very regular oil changes with proper, expensive oils they fail

The nuts on the diff to housing joint had a habit of coming loose on one of mine. A good clean and Locktite eventually fixed it.

If #4 is acting up, try unplugging it. I think it will run on default values off the crank sensor.

I always fit NGK plugs and I've never had an issue. I'd recommend not to buy Champion plugs as their quality is terrible in my experience.

I never found any there. I have a mystery leak on the driver's side and I suspect it is that rear window, right at the top near the roof. I think the glass bond is leaking.
