She goes really well once started no trouble getting 40-50 mph up hills with a good run up, I have checked voltage to each glow plug and getting 10v but haven't checked if end is actually getting hot, once engine is warm she starts straight away so doubt it's timing.

You need a sender with a grey insulated on top not black or white, try one for an early 90 I had the same problem on my 1983 series 3

Do you know what the correct temp should be for normal, i dont lose any water and she never overheats. I think trapped air below sensor could be an issue as mentioned in a previous comment ive only had this problem since changing the sensor i thought the new one was faulty so tried another and...

Hi all I have recently fitted an 82 DEG thermostat to my series 3 2/4 Diesel and since then the temp gauge is always in the red, I have found out that the gauges are calibrated for a 74 DEG thermostat does anyone know how to recalibrate the gauge for the higher temp thermostat.

Thanks for all you're advice replaced all seals correctly but no change lots of popping knocking and copious amounts of black smoke, this morning i stripped out old injectors and replaced with new started her up and the problem is still there haven't got a clue what to do next I think i can move...

Thanks for that, would it be ok to use grease to hold steel washer on to injector before inserting it in hole?
