Ok basically what im after is a list of required parts and potential problems to avoid. I need an engine and gearbox obviously, radiator but need a complete list if possible.
Oh and it would be a.300 tdi as im told they are slightly better ln mpg

Hi, sorry for yet another engine conversion thread but Ive googled and searched the forums for info on converting v8 to diesel and all I can find is replacing one diesel for another.

Had a look and looks like the prop is about 2“ out of joint if that makes sense. Im no mechanic but doesnt look right. Ive read on the forum about a wide yoke prop that might cure it but it might be jan/feb before i can afford it. Is it likely to pop out or break in the mean time? I will...

Started on the motorway doing about 55-60mph when I lift off the accelerator I get a grating or rattling sound from underneath for a second or two and then dies off. Had a look under and exhaust hanger bracket had a lot of play so tightened that up but still making noise. Only other thing I can...

Thanks for the replies. My landy is a 89 defender county but it was totally rebuilt before i bought it. Not ex mod though. I will look under the trim as you suggested and see whats there. So even though it appears it has never had a light or radio there should still be wires in place?

Hi i have a 89 defender with no stereo or interior light. There is no obvious wiring in place to connect things to. Can anyone tell me the best place to run the wires to and from or is this a job for the pros? Im ok getting stuck in with spanners but no nowt about electrics:)
