Thanks for the info and offer Dag, I uhmed and ahhed and poked some rusty metal on the bulkhead and decided to go for the new to me dash / vents / ducts from fleabay. I think it should go in ok with nothing getting in the way (mainly the old end hole brackets for the narrow vent dash interfering...

I'm going to take a look at the bulkhead fixing. Maybe a couple of new plastic vents and some self tappers / rivnuts might work. Guess it might also have a further knock on effect to the heater ducting etc.
