I had same problem both when pressing down and releasing. Then it started to sound like a barn door opening when the hinges hadn't been oiled. My mechanic changed the clutch peddle and now it is lovely and quiet.

I actually like it. However, it's not a practical vehicle for Africa or any other third world country. Charities that buy those vehicles need basic, minimum electrics in their machines. Mainly cos this keeps costs down and are usually fixable by the roadside. I cannot see this being the same...

Update on the tent. The better half and me went for a night away and it was the dogs bollocks. Standard roof bars held up with the 2 of us snug inside.

They are expensive but I was lucky cos I cashed in some free shares I was given so it didn't cost me anything. But the added bonus is you get to look down on the 'poor' campers:):):):):)

Takes about 30 minutes to lift and bolt onto the roof bars. Then remove the protective cover, grab the ladders and pull. Hey presto the tent is up.
