What have you done to your Landie today.

Where did you get them from please? I noticed today that my drivers door seal is knackered! I spent today changing the heater matrix, I had to do it twice as I managed to split the first one and didnt notice until filling up the system with coolant! Luckily a local place had one in stock. Not a...

300TDi cambelt change and fuel pump timing questions

Thanks for all the tips guys, I'm pretty sure undoing it won't be a problem with my makita gun (either the 285z or the 1002z), but not sure how I could get it torqued back up to spec when putting it back together. I should be able to make a tool if I do need it, I'll see how I get on, hopefully...

300TDi cambelt change and fuel pump timing questions

Thanks, that's useful to know! Yes I plan to do the cambelt replacement first and time it up just using the timing 'pin' in the pump - then after that (and after running it for a few days) I will use the dial gauge to double check it is spot on. That's the plan anyway!

Thanks for the info, so if I bought the kit I linked to above then I would also need this kit as well to do the cambelt? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Defender-200-300tdi-Timing-Belt-Tool-Kit/203169793226?hash=item2f4ddd04ca:g:aQIAAOSwglZfpU9m

300TDi cambelt change and fuel pump timing questions

Hi there, My Discovery 1 doesn't seem to be running at it's best, it's a little sluggish! Also I have no history of a cambelt change so I thought I would kill 2 birds with 1 stone and get the cambelt changed and at the same time make sure the fuel pump timing is correct (before I start messing...

Hi all, Sorry to bump an old thread. I'm based in Bristol and have a workshop in Bedminster so if anyone could benefit from a dry space to tinker or need to use a ramp, welder, sandblaster, powder coater, tyre machine etc then drop me a message and I'll be happy to help out. I've not found...

New member from Bristol, Discovery 300tdi

Hi all, I'm from Bristol and have had my discovery 300tdi (manual) for nearly 2 years now. I'm looking to do some upgrades on it so have joined up here for some advice. Before I start tinkering I want to get the cambelt done and the fuel pump timing set exactly right so any pointers as to who...
