    So... mystery continues: I got new version thermostat hoses installed, and changed the expansion tank. Still overheats, however it cools down easily back to middle point. THen I unplugged the temp. sensor and with the cooling fans on there was no overheating.

    Thanks for the warning you are right, I have checked the color of the wire and it was really white-pink and it says K1.8 on the manual so I assumed it would be valid :) But now I remember that I came across somewhere that they changed ECU software to OBDII at year 2000. So it might be changed.
