Hello,
My pre face-lift 200tdi has loss of steering fluid from the reservoir due to foaming.
Checked all connections - all tight with no leaks.
Steering pump makes a whining noise under load.
Is the pump a goosed?
Thanks for thoughts snd opinions.

Many thanks NPG. Seems everyone I know says 40Nm too.
As you say - feels a bit low but hey ho.

Hello
Looking for alittle help here please.
Just replaced the tie rod ball joints in my D1 200tdi.
Haynes says tighten to 40nm.
This seems low to me given the job they perform.
Has anyone got experience if what rhey should be?
Many thanks

Sorted!
It was a volt drop on the ground side and a volt drop on the supply side.
The clue in the supply side was the shared fuse between rear indicators brake lights and reversing lights.

Hello,
I need to replace my 200tdi front bumper but getting hold of a pre-facelift bumper is like looking for Rocking horse doodoo.
So, has anyone tried to fit a post-facelift front bumper?
Any advice or shared experience would be much appreciated.

Hi, Thanks for getting back to me could you message me with a price please.

Hello
I am looking hor a D1 200tdi prefacelift front bumper. Part number NTC5077.
Many thanks

I can see at least 2 headers hiding under the front dash.
Looking at them from the outside they look dry and fine.
I'll investigate further......
-
Not sure, there us only 1 fuse box on a D1 ppre-facelift, behind a panel in the drivers footwell.
I've unscrewed the fuse box a couple of times to get access to relays behind it, but never noticed an earth.
I'll have another look.

Thanks for this, I've looked at some of the headers but I'm not quite sure where they all are or how they work.
Mines a '93 pre face-lift so slightly different wiring to a '95 but quite similar.

Yup, rewired a new socket even all this started but no impact.
Today I spliced the trailer socket earth onto the rear light cluster earth. Doesn't seem to have changed anything.
However, I'll unplug it from the car loom tomorra to see what happens - worth a try.
Many thanks.

Good call.
I'll start with the reversing light switch.
I've also ordered a new brakel light switch as my one is a bit wobbly and seems to be leaking what looks like very light oil.
