    Stuck/seized diff drain plugs

    Thanks for all the suggestions, the breaker bar arrived which made it much easier to remover the drain plugs. Very glad I did the front diff as the oil that came out of it was black! I even took out both plugs and sprayed the inside with lots of WD40 to remove a bit more of the black oil...

    Thanks for all the suggestions! I am currently waiting on a 75cm breaker bar to be delivered from ebay, so will try that directly into drain plug. Will try using the jack trick, and if it still doesn`t work I will try the EP90/acetone mix . I will keep you updated :)

    Brilliant, that should make things so much easier! I am currently using something similar to this Laser Tools | 1578 | Drain Plug Key - 8/13mm Sq. so will buy a 8mm to 1/2 inch socket adapter to go with the breaker bar. Cheers!

    Hi, basically checked the oil on my defender and the oil in the front axle really needs a change-it was black and grimey. I can get the fill plugs out of both diffs easily. Also want to change the rear oil as I have no idea when it was last changed. I have removed all the accumulated grime...

    I have wolf rims atm and plan on reusing them due to their strength, been told they will fit is that true? Is there any other way of increasing ground clearance other than an axle swap and fitting larger tyres? :) cheers!

    I`m running some very worn 235`s (trying to make them last as long as possible before buying the new set), have money set aside for some BFG mud 285/75/r16 to get a bit more clearance :) , hoping these will be fine with the heavy duty shocks and springs! What are top jates? never heard of them

    I want to try and use cut-down jate rings as recovery points, and weld them much higher up and further forward than they normally sit. Attached is a photo with bull bars the same as mine, I want to have the recovery points welded to the right and left of the eyes in the photo...

    What is a military bumper rated to?

    Thanks for the replies :) I did use high tensile bolts to replace the rusted ones so hope those should hold! I may need to fit a new bumper then if it`s not safe for recovery?

    Recently replaced all 4 bolts holding on the military bumper on my 110 as they were rusted (looked deeper than just surface rust). Was wondering if anyone knew what the bumper with the standard towing pin is rated to? Just curious really! Cheers :) Also what is the rear nato towing pintle...

    Amazed by differences between defenders!

    I will let everyone know after a few tanks :) worst case scenario don`t think it would do any damage to my 200tdi, not in that amount anyway
