Ah well. Landy doesn't like her and she knows it.
I took her around the country lanes with the top off (the Landy. Not the wife).
Some random bramble hanging out of a hedgerow got the wife just as shed stated "it's a smelly old thing isn't it"... wham!.
8 years later she still blames the car?

You can do that?
I was gonna do it the hard way lol

Tried this with a motorhome once. Last bid was 2.5k way under value. The guy didn't turn up (thank goodness).
I sold it privately for 7.5k
Maybe if i had raised the staring price instead of 99p? Anyway it scared the he'll out of me.

Some updated photos.
The new look has made me more popular when im out. Other landy owners flash me now and random people come over to chat about landys in general.
So. Been busy cleaning sanding priming ect. Greased all the nipples. topped up oils and cleaned her up.
I've still got to paint...

You don't have the nut to full em oil..
I went through a load of diffs looking for a set that would fit. Ended up with 72 range rover diffs. S straight swap. Oil nut is on it. The only difference was the ratio was slightly higher so no need for an overdrive.
Not easy to come by but I dare say...

I bought the glazed sides when I was using it to shunt the darts team about using it as a 7 seater. Thought it would be nice if they could see. Or more that they could be seen because when ever we stopped at a traffic lights or zebra crossing they would all pretend to be animals.. sheep and cows...

Decided to tidy it up.
Started already. Seen a couple of pics on line I fancy.
I have a choice of hard top sides (with or without windows).
Which do you think look better?
Also
I've notice mine has wing mirrors on the wings which doesn't seem the norm for series 3. I'm assuming only the earliest...

Hi.
Selling the wife... best not eh!
Bulk head. Chassis ect are fine. Leaf springs are pretty rusty.
it is the standard diesel and the diffs are no problem at all. Initially there seemed little point in first gear as the ratio is so low and top spead was 45mph, But now 1st gear is like it...

Im ready top sell my series 3. it no longer gets used, the kids have grown up so fun days out arent the same, also being nagged by the wife at having too many vehicles already and i need to get another van for business. the others are essential for work etc.
My Argument "I have room for more...

All sorted now.
The feed into the pump wasnt in straight so wasnt all the way in so was letting air in.
I had to loosn the pump to get the pipe in straight. Now works a treat.
Cheers

I'm not getting any leaks. but it does sound like it could be drawing air in?
the fuel line coming in was fiddly going back on, looks like the end of a break pipe. im wondering if i might have cross threaded it now?
if i put a compressor to the filler cap would this show me if there is a hole...

Hi fellow Landy lovers.
My 1972 series 3 had fuel dripping from the lift pump so i decided to change the pump.
Now it starts and runs for a few seconds and dies.
when hand crank the lift pump i can hear gurgling and bubbling.
I put an extra gallon of diesel in and loosened the bleed screw on...

Hi All.
It just dawned on me that i didn't reset the pump after the MOT.
to be honest it still smokes like hell despite turning the thing and doing all the other stuff.
It smoked a lot less when i ran it without an air filter.. is that big black thing called an air filter?
Any way, i should...

thanks.. and the flange.
is it the "Drive Flange 10 spline 571235 Series 2 & 3
taking into account that the diffs are from a 1973 rangerover.
