Could be an air leak on the inlet manifold mate

Bit of advice mate,If you do galvanise it and then have to do some welding DONT breath in the fumes.You will end up with whats known in the trade as galvo flue,it puts you on your arse for a good couple of days in the same way flue does hence the name galvo flue
