I had the discs and they worked fine. Bigger than standard and fitted well. Think biggest thing that made a difference was decent pads, but compared to what came off anything would have been an improvement
I'm pretty sure that the p38 steering rods are not interchangeable with the Disco2.

Hi, I had mounted drilled and slotted discs on my defender td4 puma years ago, the difference was practically only aesthetic, from what you can see from the 16" rims of an off-road vehicle. Here in Italy there is a company that sells reinforced...
We are at the final steps, leaving the courtyard of the house the Range arrives at a true professional who will bring it back to its glorious splendor ❤️
Hi, as some of you said, I couldn't find the hard plastic seals for the secondary pistons, I found a good used modulator from 1998 and took it. The part looks good and there is no dirt inside, I think I got a good deal. I removed the washers and...
I would like to thank everyone for there help with my overheating problems i bleed the cooling system ran the engine for nearly an hour no problems then the new clutch i put in on the viscous fan started to kick in which it didn't do...
If can possibly have a bar made like the guy in the video did that holds the two bolts and allows you crack the center bolt off it can be used in reverse to tighten it. 🤔
i have a diesel but it's about the same thing, once the pulley was removed i blocked the flange with a plumber's pipe wrench (don't use chinese stuff) blocking it against the frame and using a pipe as an extension. some people do it by blocking...
It looks like the crank seal but to be sure I would do an inspection behind the belt to see if anything is leaking higher up. The belt seems to have had its day :)

It seems they do the square section ones, perhaps they can help you if you email them.
Or these guys...
Thanks for the directions but as you noticed from the photos, these seals are square section, or even rectangular, they are 2mm high and 1mm thick and this is a problem, I don't know if a classic O-ring can fit. As material I will use EPDM since...
I had a lot of "fun" trying to get o rings for my Mustang injectors. Went to a specialist who told me that the measurements that are critical are the diameter and the cross section (how thick the rubber is). So you want to measure your Outer...
I've found Wych Bearings to be very helpful in finding o-rings if you give them the measurements and use. Brake fluid is a harsh fluid though.
Possibly ring Wabco in Buckingham, UK, although you will need the measurements as they threw all their...
Hi, I'm opening a new thread because I haven't found anything recently that deals with this topic, I opened the abs modulator of my 1995 P38 and I'm trying to find some new epdm seals that are compatible, when I find them I'll update you. I want...
today i reversed the pipes that go to the modulator and the braking from left has moved to right, so i found the culprit, it's the modulator. Tonight i took it apart and took out four pistons, two of them had a lot of dirt on the bottom, the...
The modulator can be a total bar-steward to get all air out. I used an Ezibleed kit when I replaced mine and flushed about 3 litres of DOT 4 through before pushing another 2 litres through the lines themselves.
Front lines are usually OK. As...
This is an excellent thread. Hats off to the OP for the work he's putting in.
I've never had a P38 but I really do like them, we saw a stunning one yesterday at Littlestone, the condition of it was fantastic, so much so that my son asked...
I can’t see the picture properly and my memory isn’t the best but I’m guessing it’s on all models. There should be a nipple at the back of modulator somewhere at the bottom that people always miss. If in doubt with a p38 generally keep bleeding...
If the brake lines to the back have never been changed, replace them as they will be rusty where you can not see them they are atleast 20years old, here are some pics of mine they were not leaking but crumbled when you tried to move the pipes
Thanks for the tip, I'll check the rear lines. So you're telling me that rebuilt calipers often don't work?
when I did it they seemed to slide well and there are no leaks. Do you recommend I get new ones?
Fair point about the springs, check the rear brake lines between the body and the chassis, especially above the cross member above the rear axle. They do give up in that area👍
As for a front brake différence, the calipers may just be passed...
