Is there any one close to you that already has a polisher?
Ask around and see if they will either give you a loan or come round and test a section to see if it'll come up.
I would suggest you try doing the back then it won't be as noticeable as just a door or wing if it makes a difference and...

Correct.
One possible loophole could be to book an MOT the day you collect it, drive it straight to test station then straight home.
However if we are talking a journey that is longer than a few miles then they may not look favourably on it.
Best bet is a trailer.
